We are glad to inform that we had the opportunity to take part in the Uniportal VATS Training in Shanghai for the first time, which took place on 9- 19th of June 2015.

The training programme is lead by Dr. Diego Gonzalez Rivas, Thoracic surgeon and creator of the uniportal VATS surgery procedure.

 The idea of the Uniportal VATS Training is to present surgeons from all around the world an opportunity to learn the newest surgery approaches in the Thoracoscopic Department of the biggest Pulmonary Hospital in China.

There are 3 meetings planned for this year, the first has already taken place in March, the second now in June, and the third one is planned for October. 

After 10 days of intensive work, all participants have gotten to know the Uniportal VATS technique presented by Dr Diego Gonzalez Rivas and had also taken part in the Congress, which was held at the Hospital during this time.

A big part of the workshop were also lectures presented by experienced doctors, known all around the world. We also had the chance to meet Prof Tomasz Grodzki from Poland, who came to present a lecture in MIE (minimally invasive esophagectomy) Laparoscopy procedure. 

We would like to especially thank Professor Director Jiang Gening, Dr Li Wentao and Dr Timothy Young for the opportunity to join this edition of the VATS Training and the perfect organization of this event.

We are already looking forward to the next edition of the workshop in October.
